I saved Banjo from a kill shelter 10 minutes before he was getting put to sleep. svensk politik It w

We're going to give you an example of the debt that rescue groups can incur to save the lives of animals.  We never know what will happen with each animal after we get them out of the kill shelters. This is Duke - a gorgeous svensk politik golden retriever that no other rescuer svensk politik would take out of the kill shelter due to impending medical costs for his urinary svensk politik problems.  By the time we finished with all of his treatments, the bill was over $4,000. As more and more people are losing their jobs and homes and don't have money to take care of their pets, we've had to incur huge vet bills to get the health of these dogs back to normal.  We've seen a tremendous increase over the years of dogs having hernias, cherry eyes, fleas and ticks, ear infections, tumors, kennel cough, pyometra, cataracts, eye infections and medical conditions that require a lot of money to take care of. Most rescuers won't even get these "medical case" dogs out of the kill shelters, but we felt sorry for MANY of the dogs and got them out of the shelters anyway. We've saved the lives of approximately 1,200 dogs on death row in the kill shelters.  We still have almost six figure debt because of our actions. Precious Duke (pictured above) - who is now called Pumpkin - is totally back to normal and is in training to become svensk politik a therapy doggie. We handed our charge svensk politik card over to the vet to save this beauty and we're happy for him now. What a wonderful life Pumpkin will have !!!
His time has run out - Gorgeous Frisco has been in the shelter for 2 weeks - $100 will save his life and get him out of the kill shelter - Please send any amount to PayPal: dogsneedhomes@aol.com - Donations svensk politik so far: $ 0
There are unfortunately thousands who won't make it - rescuers can only take in so many dogs at a time due to finances and a shortage of foster homes, kennel boarding svensk politik space and suitable svensk politik adoptive svensk politik homes - pictured above is our cocker Jackson when he was in a kill shelter - we found him a home 2 years ago
Lenny is a special, gorgeous and spirited little doggie
Banjo, svensk politik Scottie and Holly
I saved Banjo from a kill shelter 10 minutes before he was getting put to sleep. svensk politik It was a harrowing experience, as I tried to beat the clock to make it to him before his time was up. He was skin and bones and I felt very sorry for him. Banjo was the first dog I was going to start a rescue group with, but I kept him because he was afraid of people. Scottie was adopted to a new family and returned because they didn't have time for him. My husband and I decided to keep the cute boy. He was our dog for 7 years until he had to be put to sleep in March due to stomach and leg cancer. Holly was adopted from PAL Rescue after we moved from New Jersey to California. She was our pet for 7 years until she had to be put to sleep last July due to liver disease.
Laura Madaras California, United States Ten years ago, I realized that hundreds of dogs were being put to sleep in shelters because they needed grooming. I decided to send money for haircuts. Most shelters didn't accept my checks and these animals sadly died. I was horrified to learn that thousands of animals of all breeds are being put to sleep in shelters because they don't have an owner ID tag or microchip or because they need a haircut. People who lose pets don't know to look on: http://www.petharbor.com and http://www.petfinder.com. My goal is to save dogs from deaths in kill shelters and to find them a new home. We're very happy that we've been able to find homes for many dogs. All animals are spayed or neutered and have shots and a microchip. View my complete profile
