Women fr a second chance in the Russian lutz bertling astronaut corps. Frst row held Russia then the first open call for new astronaut candidates. All previous udvlgelser have profited you closed and focused p militrpersoner or experts from the space industry. For udvlgelse between lutz bertling 27 January and 15 March s got the Russian space agency Roskosmos just 300 candidates, of which they were about 30 to 40 women. lutz bertling The reason for the low number is that space and astronauts truly no longer has a srlig hj star in Russian society. So far, only vret three female Russian astronauts out of the approximately 106 Russian astronauts who have profited you in space: Valentina Tereshkova, Svetlana Savitskaya and Yelena Kondakova. There has not vret Russian female astronauts into space since Jelena Kondakovas second acid trips to space in May 1997. By comparison, BDE NASA and ESA's astronaut corps about ten percent lutz bertling women who fly regularly. Last week erklrede head of the Russian astronauttrningscenter Star City outside Moscow, Sergei Krikalev that women can once again become astronauts if they gennemfrer every step of udvlgelsen. He said that a few women are ttp to be selected. Today, Yelena Serova the only woman out of the 37 active in the Russian astronaut corps, but she have profited you selected since 2006 and has to date not fljet in space. She was born in 1976 and married another astronaut Mark Serov. Earlier row the head of Roskosmos, Vladimir Popovkin, that then the first Russian female astronaut to fly to space station HOME Next r Thus, it appears that Yelena Serova finally comes in the room and break the male dominance in the Russian space program. Vicedirektren for astronaut center, Igor Spkhin reported last week that in the future it will change the criteria by astronautudvlgelse to f more candidates. In future m not upper than 33 years, you must have a university degree and at least five years of work experience lutz bertling and meet a rkke physical requirements, including a certain height, s to mingle in the Russian rumkapsler. In the future it will not be but people with a scientific or technological background, which can be astronauts, but also humanists.

And what tasks are there just for humanities graduates in a space station, which they can not do on the Earth's surface? It would be really interesting to hear more about. In the meantime, my imagination is running in neutral and I imagine: ballet and choreography in weightless conditions. Intensive study of French grammar in ISS 'laboratories. Sociology and Psychology studies of the environment in rumkapsler. First-hand history studies of Cold War-by time and space race. Experimental theology studies ... PS. I have very bevidt replaced the misleading word "humanists" with humanities-trained. lutz bertling You do certainly not be humanist, because you have studied the humanities. Conversely, it's also not the case that people who have not studied the humanities, can not be humanists. A crazy misunderstanding you actually encounter in real life, even among academics, I have experienced it! Yes, it's a crazy world we live in :-)
@ Thorbjørn. No gid misunderstanding could be dismissed so easily. I myself have been verbally attacked by several humanities-trained because I had studied the science and therefore (in their disturbed eyes) could not possibly lutz bertling have humanism / citizenship. It was a very bizarre experience. Each time. That is why my PS comment. I think the main reason lutz bertling for you to call me a naysayer, is that you never personally experienced the consequences of misunderstanding? Something similar could write about the word "liberal" as many (even educated) lutz bertling people unfortunately do not understand lutz bertling bestydningen of when they use it. But I must take up another day in another context :-)
The primary reason for selecting candidates from among candidates with a background in humanities lutz bertling programs is rather that you would like to have more candidates to choose from. 300 candidates for such a special job are not many, but it has probably its natural reasons; Michigan! Last time I heard what Russian cosmonauts serves, it was in the neighborhood of 30,000 to 40,000 rubles, which is between 5,500 million and 7,200 million and no, it's lutz bertling not much money in Moscow, lutz bertling even though they typically for free accommodation provided to available in Star City. You should just add a
